Since 2010, FARA Kern County has hosted its annual Friends of Jerod Reverse Draw in Bakersfield, CA. With only 200 tickets sold at $100 each, ticket holders have a 1:200 chance of winning $5,000 and do not need to be present to win. As a reverse draw, numbered balls are drawn out of a lotto machine one at a time. When the last five balls remain in the box those remaining ticket holders with the corresponding ball numbers can choose to keep pulling balls OR quit while they are ahead and split the $5,000 five ways--taking home $1,000 each. This fast-paced, exciting evening provides a dinner for two, courtesy of Outback Steakhouse, a basket raffle, and a live auction.
