Born and raised in Bakersfield, CA, Jerod began exhibiting symptoms of Friedreich's Ataxia at around age eleven and was diagnosed at age 13 through genetic testing performed at UCLA.  This disorder has progressed since that time and today, at age 29, he is completely dependent upon a wheelchair to get around.  Jerod does not allow himself to be defined by Friedreich's Ataxia.  He is a graduate of Fresno Pacific University and today is a proud business owner.  He faithfully works out at the gym five days per week, enjoys target shooting, is involved in leadership of a large young adult group at his church, and loves hanging out with his friends.  Jerod is a jokester and you can always depend on him to be the clown at any gathering.  His laughter is never-ending and his positive outlook is an inspiration to many.
